Frequently Asked Payroll Questions

• Who should I contact about a personnel funding change? Contact Rebecca Howlett, 626-8503
• Can you show me an example of a funding change including temporary and permanent changes?
• What do I have to do to change an employees FTE?
  Print the employees PAF and PCF, indicate the FTE change on the PAF and recalculate the funding needed at the new FTE rate and write in on the PCF (use screen 17 for calculation). Submit the forms to HR for approval and processing.
• What is the difference between temporary and permanent?
  Permanent funding is equal to FTE and salary, a placement holder for rollover, it can be up to 4 accounts that total the employees salary * their FTE.
  
  Temporary funding is the same as Operating funding (screen 31 in PSOS). This is the amount that is encumbered in FRS and what prints on the time roster by percent distribution. This amount can be calculated using screen 17 to put on the PCF (form).
